How Do I Shape My Eyebrows
Well-groomed eyebrows frame your face and shaping them correctly is important; too much (or even too little) can throw the balance of your features off.
If you’re unsure of how to shape your eyebrows, it’s always advisable to go into a salon and ask them to do the shaping initially, so you will then have the right shape to work with at home.
When you’re confident enough to go it alone, follow these steps:
To ‘map’ the brows, ensure your face is clean, preferably with no makeup.
Take a makeup brush and place it vertically at the side of your nose. This will show you where your brows should start. Pluck any stray hairs that are before this point.
Next, take the brush and go from your nose to the outer corner of your eye. This is where your brows should finish. Pluck any hairs that go beyond this.
Finally, take the brush from the corner of your nose, look straight ahead and take the brush through the centre of the eye – this is where your arch should be. The arch should peak above the outer rim of your iris and lie directly on your brow bone.
Following these simple steps will make a huge difference to your features and you’ll be a step closer to those much-craved ‘perfect brows’!
Back in the day, a beauty rule when it came to brows was to never take hair away from the top of the brow. These days, with the rise of the ‘perfect brow’, we take hair from everywhere! But that comes with a warning: if you’re new to eyebrow shaping, don’t alter the shape from the top; instead, opt to remove hair from below to give a more defined look.
Once you’re happy with your shape, make sure to keep the brows clean and as pores will be open, do not go swimming or have a hot bath or shower for 24 hours. Where possible, also steer clear of makeup unless it’s 100% mineral.
